New paths: Time freight reduces transport charges as of 1.1.2022
Stuttgart, October 21, 2021. As of January 1, 2022, Zeitfracht GmbH is reducing transport prices for customers who only use Zeitfracht's book logistics services. The company is reducing the fees for the cash assortment by ten percent and for exclusive publisher inclusions by five percent.
"We have to react to rising transport prices and C02 taxes. However, it is important to us that these additional costs are not passed on one-to-one to our retailers. This is because retailers cannot pass on rising transportation costs due to fixed book prices. We are therefore taking a new approach. We are proud that in future we will be relieving particularly loyal customer groups and rewarding them for their loyalty. After all, they ensure significantly more predictability and capacity utilization, which is a crucial pillar for our transport logistics," says Thomas Raff, CEO of Zeitfracht GmbH.
The new model builds on the 36-hour model that has already been introduced. This enables stationary retailers to reduce transportation costs by eliminating overnight deliveries. "We have taken the idea a step further. Retailers can actively determine the prices. We can only achieve stable charges if our fleet is fully utilized and we move predictable tonnage. To make the price reduction possible for our customers, we have also invested in efficient loading space management in recent months and optimized the transport process thanks to intelligent software control," says Raff.
