KNV Zeitfracht launches innovative model for transportation prices

Stuttgart, June 2, 2020.

KNV Zeitfracht introduces an innovative pricing model for delivery by book cart service on July 1. Due to the high cost pressure in the transport sector, KNV Zeitfracht also has no choice but to adjust its transport prices. At the same time, the cash assortment will offer customers of the book trolley service in Germany the opportunity to reduce their procurement costs and achieve savings of up to 75 percent with a new model from July 1, 2020. In future, bookshops will be able to decide whether they would like to receive the item the next day or the day after ("36-hour cycle") for every order for a bar range. For all items ordered in the new "36-hour cycle", KNV Zeitfracht will completely waive the transport costs for bookstores until December 31, 2020; from January 1, 2021, they will receive a discount of 75 percent of the regular bar range transport costs.

"The past few months have shown us how quickly framework conditions can change and our industry is also facing major challenges. This makes it all the more important that we break new ground and look for creative solutions," says Thomas Raff, Managing Director of KNV Zeitfracht. The new model will allow customers to influence the delivery charges for their cash range orders themselves in future. "Of course we will continue to deliver overnight. But we also know that not every customer order or stock replenishment is needed so quickly," explains Raff. KNV Zeitfracht also honors the concentration of weights. All cash assortment and return item weights as well as the publisher's additions are taken into account when grouping them into the monthly scale of publisher's additions.

For orders placed in "36-hour cycles", KNV Zeitfracht customers will receive a second customer number. For bookstores that use one of the KNV Zeitfracht IT systems pcbis.de or fitbis.de, the bar range will automatically install the second customer number at the end of June.
