Zeitfracht Group relocates logistics division completely to Erfurt / KNV Zeitfracht parent company is looking for up to 150 more employees for its location in the Thuringian state capital

Erfurt, 17. August 2020

The logistics service provider Zeitfracht is to relocate its entire logistics business from Berlin to Erfurt. This was announced today by Zeitfracht Managing Director Dr. Wolfram Simon-Schröter during a visit by Thuringia's Economics Minister Wolfgang Tiefensee to the Zeitfracht subsidiary KNV Zeitfracht in Erfurt. KNV is the book and media logistics subsidiary of the Zeitfracht Group with around 1,600 employees in Erfurt and Stuttgart. The company is also active in the field of system logistics and logistics for electronic products. Tiefensee, who started this year's summer tour at KNV today, welcomed the decision: "This is a very strong signal, especially in these times: many companies are investing and continuing to grow despite the crisis," said the Minister. "The relocation of Zeitfracht-Logistik is a huge step forward for Thuringia as a central logistics location in Germany and Europe. As a state, we will of course continue to provide the company with the best possible framework conditions and support for its future growth."

According to Simon-Schröter, Zeitfracht believes that the Erfurt site offers the best conditions for the company's planned further expansion thanks to its good investment climate, central location and quick administrative decisions on the part of the state and municipality. "Our existing location is also excellently connected to the highway network and offers the best opportunities for expansion." KNV alone is planning to gradually expand its range of products beyond the current range of books and media; children's clothing has already been added to the range of goods delivered by KNV as of today.

With the relocation of time freight logistics from Berlin to the Thuringian capital, 400 jobs will also be moved to Thuringia. The aim is to complete the move in the fall - in any case before the Christmas business, said Simon-Schröter. In addition, KNV is looking for up to 150 new employees for its book and media business in Erfurt - most of them permanent, as the Minister of Economic Affairs was assured during his visit today.
