Cooperation between Zeitfracht GmbH and the print-on-demand specialists CPI successfully launched / The media logistics provider's print-on-demand offering is being expanded
Erfurt, January 10, 2022. At the turn of the year, CPI as a new print service provider and Zeitfracht GmbHin Erfurt successfully launched their Print on Demand (PoD) partnership without interrupting production.
CPI, Germany's leading book printing service provider, contributes valuable production expertise and the necessary technologies. For example, publishers can now use Zeitfracht's PoD service to print not only softcovers but also hardcovers from a print run of 1. Zeitfracht GmbH, which is the only company in the intermediate book trade to combine the business models of cash assortment, publisher delivery, book cart service and POD in one logistics operation, thus offers the ideal environment with its customer and supplier portfolio.
In their partnership, Zeitfracht and CPI will offer their joint publishing customers a seamless transition between conventional print runs and print-to-order in the Zeitfracht bar range or publisher delivery. The common goal is always to make books available as cost-effectively as possible throughout their entire life cycle and to deliver them to customers quickly, reliably and in line with their needs.
Thomas Raff, member of the Zeitfracht Group Executive Board and spokesman for the management of Zeitfracht GmbH: "We are very happy that the changeover on January 1, 2022 went so smoothly and quietly. We have had very good discussions with many publishers in recent months and have won them over to our model. Sustainability is also an important issue: PoD production conserves resources (no excess stock, less transportation), is cost-efficient and is of course powered by green electricity."
Olivier Maillard, CEO of CPI Germany: "We are very pleased and it was very important for the entire team to get off to a successful start with this cooperation. We can now offer our customers an important service for the overall marketing of their content. We are firmly convinced that the efficient integration of production and logistics is a success factor for book marketing."
